What is the AMFM Ambassador Program?

AMFM exists to lead a marriage and family ministry movement in the local church. We achieve this by encouraging, equipping, resourcing and training those called to this vital area of ministry.

The AMFM Ambassador Program exists to enhance the mission and expansion of AMFM and its purpose. It is couple-led, volunteer-based and designed to empower marriage and family champions to live out their calling and passion wherever it may be.

What does an AMFM Ambassador do?
  • Local AMFM representatives across the U.S. committed to serving others with a servant’s heart in their community as part of AMFM
  • Serve their home church and pastoral staff as a priority in marriage and family ministry
  • Builds relationships with churches in their communities with the goal of building community among those called to marriage and family ministry
  • Cast a vision for marriage and family ministry in churches and community organizations

  • Who is AMFM?
    • AMFM is a non-profit organization, founded on Nov 11, 2003 to serve the needs of the local church and other organizations in marriage and family ministry.
    • AMFM believes that the Church is God’s chosen change agent for impacting the culture.
    • AMFM believes that a person’s faith in Jesus Christ must be at the center of their relationships for healthy marriages and strong families to be produced.
    • AMFM’s foundation is based on building authentic relationships and creating an environment of trust which is modeled by AMFM partners, members and staff.
    • AMFM is committed to serving the church and all those called to marriage and family ministry.
    • AMFM is committed to joining God where He is clearly working in marriage and family ministry.
    • Promotes a National Marriage and Family Ministry movement in the local Church.


    What does AMFM do?

    • AMFM convenes providers of marriage and family resources, identifies best practices and fosters collaboration among these providers.
    • AMFM facilitates the equipping, training and resourcing of individuals and couples, counselors, pastors, & others in building effective marriage & family ministries.
    • AMFM is comprised of 18 Ministry Teams i.e. ministry-specific groups. Teams are led by experts in the respective area of ministry who are responsible for facilitating relationships with resource providers, partners and members that have similar passions and callings in marriage and family ministry.
    • AMFM hosts an annual marriage and training conferences.
    • AMFM seeks to partner with and encourage organizations that are building healthy marriages and strong families.

    Why Is AMFM Needed?
    • Since 1955 the church has handed off its marriage and family issue to the counseling community
    • 42% of couples in the church believe they have a good marriage
    • Nearly 50% of all marriages end in Divorce
    • Divorce rate for step-couples is 65% - 70%
    • 80% of marriages with special needs children end in Divorce
    • There are more single adult families than two parent families
    • As much as 50% of the average church in America is made up of Stepfamilies, Single-Parents, Grandparents raising their grandchildren and couple cohabitating
    • 2.3 million men are single dads and 2.4 million grandparents raising children
    • Over the past 40 years there have been hundreds of books written & thousands of seminars presented & our marriages & families are disintegrating at a record pace
    • There is no organized effort to train and equip the Church to meet the diverse needs of the complex families sitting in their pews every week
    • The marriage ministries themselves are not connected
    • Marriage and Family is at the very core of the Church and Communities we live in
    • There is only one undergraduate degree program in Bible Colleges or Seminaries today for Marriage and Family Ministry
